F1 2023 Las Vegas GP Starting Grid – Final Grid Positions

Charles Leclerc was the class of the field in Qualifying and is first for Ferrari on the F1 starting grid for the 2023 Las Vegas GP

Charles Leclerc mastered the conditions and the Strip to put his Ferrari first on the starting grid for the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix as Formula 1 heads to Sin City for the first time in over 40 years.

Beside Leclerc’s Ferrari will be Max Verstappen in the Red Bull who lines up second, despite qualifying third, as Carlos Sainz was handed a 10-place grid penalty for installing a new energy store after his was damaged in the FP1 drain cover incident.

That penalty also moves George Russell in the Mercedes to third on the starting grid in Las Vegas, and he is alongside Pierre Gasly in the Alpine, with the Frenchman surprised to be starting so high on the grid.

It’s an all Williams third row with Alex Albon next to teammate Logan Sargeant, who becomes the first American to start in the top 10 at a home Grand Prix since Eddie Cheever did so at the 1987 Detroit Grand Prix.

An impressive Valtteri Bottas starts seventh in his Alfa Romeo, with Kevin Magnussen flying the Haas flag in eighth place. The top starters is rounded out by Fernando Alonso‘s Aston Martin in ninth, and the Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton 10th.
