Charles Leclerc put in a stunning qualifying lap to leave his Ferrari on pole position for the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix, just 0.044s ahead of Ferrar teammate Carlos Sainz

Despite Sainz qualifying in second, he has a 10-place grid penalty after his incident with the manhole cover in FP1 which meant he had to change the energy store on his Ferrari.

That means third place qualifier Max Verstappen will have his Red Bull move up to the front row for the race.

Both Williams cars made it into Q3 wit Alex Albon eventually qualifying in sixth place, and Logan Sargeant coming in seventh.

Sergio Perez of Red Bull was knocked out in Q2 along with MercedesLewis Hamilton with the pair fighting for second in the drivers’ championship.

Both McLaren cars were the big victims in Qualifying as Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri failed to make it out of Q1.
