Max Verstappen topped off a dominant performance on his way to victory at the Japanese GP with the extra point for fastest lap of the race.
Verstappen finished nearly 20 seconds ahead of Lando Norris in second, as McLaren sealed a double podium finish with Oscar Piastri sealing his first ever podium in F1.
The Dutchman put in a fastest time of 1:34.183 around Suzuka to get the extra point, as Red Bull sealed their second consecutive Constructors’ Championship.
While Verstappen looked untouchable up front, there was plenty of drama behind as Charles Leclerc managed to pass the Mercedes pair to come home in fourth, with Lewis Hamilton in fifth after being ordered to let teammate George Russell by on lap 49.
That left Russell vulnerable to the other Ferrari of Carlos Sainz, who duly sailed by the Mercedes on older tyres to take sixth, with the Brit having to settle for seventh.
