    F1 2023 Hungarian GP – Qualifying Results

Hamilton secured his first pole position in F1 since 2021 at the Hungaroring.

    -

Lewis Hamilton snatched a dramatic late pole position for Mercedes at the Hungarian GP, edging out Max Verstappen for P1 by just 0.003 second.

Mercedes had threatened to challenge Red Bull seriously at the front of the grid this weekend, and Hamilton capitalised on the team’s pace to secure his first pole position since the 2021 Saudi Arabia GP.

Meanwhile, McLaren showed that their pace at Silverstone was no one-off, locking out the second row with Lando Norris in third and Oscar Piastri in fourth for the race.
