Max Verstappen took pole position at the 2023 British Grand Prix after cruelly denying Lando Norris at the death at Silverstone.
Meanwhile, Sergio Perez missed Q3 for the fifth Formula 1 qualifying in a row as he was dumped out in Q1.
Kevin Magnussen‘s Haas pulled up with a few minutes left in the session causing a red flag and a mad rush to finish.
Perez initially went top of the timesheets but was the first driver across the line and on a rapidly drying track every car behind him bar three went quicker.
There was a moment of panic for Verstappen as he understeered out of his pit garage after the Q1 red flag and broke his front wing on the pit wall, but Red Bull were able to fix the issue in time for him to set a time and advance to the next session.
Every British driver made it through to Q3 with George Russell leading Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes battle.
Williams had been the surprise package in free practice with Alex Albon finishing in the top three of every session, and he went on to qualify eighth.
