Max Verstappen topped the timing charts in the first practice session of the British GP weekend.
The reigning world champion is gunning for his sixth race win in a row with Red Bull, and his career second around the Silverstone circuit.
Despite reporting low-grip in the earlier part of the session, the Dutch driver ended the session 0.448 ahead of his teammate Sergio Perez, with the Mexican a further 0.041 ahead of Williams’ Alex Albon.
Several cars ran testing programmes and struggled with the balance of their packages, and will hope to dial them in throughout the weekend with their next chance being FP2 at 16:00 BST time on Friday, July 7th, 2023.
