Lando Norris emerged victorious in the Sprint Shootout for the 2023 Brazilian Grand Prix in a hotly contested session that saw 10th within 0.6s of first place.

The session was red flagged early on as Esteban Ocon collided with Fernando Alonso at the exit of the Senna Esses with the Frenchman losing the rear of his car on the kerb and being flung off the racing line to hit his ex-teammate.

Alonso was left with damage that ensured he couldn’t set an SQ2 time whilst Ocon was sent into the wall and his session was over.

But Norris stole the headlines as he pipped the dominant Max Verstappen to pole by just 0.067s with Sergio Perez lining up right behind the pair in third.

Sprint Race for the 2023 F1 Brazilian GP is scheduled to start at 15:30 local time in Sao Paulo.
