Despite a strong challenge from both Mercedes cars, Max Verstappen put his Red Bull on pole position for the 2022 Mexican Grand Prix and will be on the front row of the starting grid alongside George Russell.
Lewis Hamilton leads the second row of the Mexican GP starting grid and he will be joined by hometown hero Sergio Perez in the sister Red Bull.
Both Ferrari cars had a tough time in Qualifying on Saturday with Carlos Sainz coming fifth, and Charles Leclerc seventh. In between the two Prancing Horses is Valtteri Bottas in the Alfa Romeo after he pulled out a strong performance from his car.
There are only two grid penalties in Mexico with Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll given a three place drop for his incident with Fernando Alonso at the 2022 US GP. And Kevin Magnussen in the Haas having taken a new internal combustion engine, which results in a five place grid penalty.
