F1 2022: Emilia Romagna GP Starting Grid

Red Bull's Max Verstappen is on pole position, followed by world championship leader Charles Leclerc in the Ferrari

    -

Max Verstappen managed to claw back first position in the Sprint Race at Imola after being jumped by Charles Leclerc off the line, meaning the Red Bull driver will start first on the grid for the 2022 Emilia Romagna GP.

That means Verstappen managed to covert pole position from Qualifying on Friday to first on the grid on Sunday, with Charles Leclerc just behind him in second.

After poor showings in Friday’s Qualifying session, both Sergio Perez and Carlos Sainz got themselves back up the order and will start in third and fourth, respectively.

Elsewhere, the McLaren pair of Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo were best of the rest, while Mercedes are way back with George Russell in 11th and Lewis Hamilton only managing 14th on the grid.
