Max Verstappen came out on top for Red Bull in a chaotic qualifying session for the first sprint race of the 2022 F1 season at the Emilia Romagna GP.
The Dutchman will head the grid for the sprint race on Saturday which will determine the starting order for the race on Sunday, ahead of the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc after a qualifying session repeatedly delayed by five red flags.
Lando Norris showed once again that in tricky conditions he can deliver and will start from 3rd for McLaren despite bringing out the final red flag which ended the session, while Mercedes were left licking their wounds after both Sir Lewis Hamilton and George Russell went out in Q2.
