The Cadillac F1 Team made its presence felt during the 2025 Miami Grand Prix weekend with a high-profile launch event that mixed American flair with strategic mystery.
Held on Saturday night in Miami, the event delivered a teaser video that hinted at the team’s visual identity ahead of its official debut on the F1 grid in 2026. Although many fans anticipated a driver announcement to headline the event, Cadillac opted to delay the reveal.
That didn’t stop supporters from making their preferences known, with chants of “Get Checo! Get Checo!” echoing outside the venue—clear support for free-agent veteran Sergio Perez, as per Autosport.
No driver yet, but Cadillac sets tone with strong visual identity
TWG Motorsports CEO Dan Towriss addressed the speculation during a media session in Miami, explaining that the Cadillac F1 Team was in no rush to finalise its 2026 driver lineup.
“I think the biggest thing is we’re not in a hurry to select a driver. There’s a lot that goes into selecting your pilot for Formula 1 from that standpoint. So we’re taking our time,” Towriss said.
“The list certainly includes the names that many people are talking about. Although I do get a kick out of waking up each day and reading that we’re in the final stages of negotiation.”

Instead, Cadillac focused on crafting a powerful brand message. The teaser video showcased a blue-and-white colour scheme, which many interpreted as a nod to America’s international racing colours—a thematic continuation of the team’s “all-American” branding, which began during its entry bid under the Andretti banner.
One of the more eye-catching moments in the teaser featured the Cadillac Eldorado, a classic symbol of American automotive culture. With its sleek silver finish and rocket-style tail lights, the car may have hinted at design inspiration or simply paid homage to the company’s storied past.
FIA and GM executives hail Cadillac’s 2026 F1 entry
The event also served as a celebration of Cadillac’s confirmed place on the 2026 Formula 1 grid, a move FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem called a major milestone: “Today marks a transformative moment… The Cadillac Formula 1 Team’s presence in the paddock will inspire future competitors and fans.”
GM President Mark Reuss echoed that optimism, underscoring the importance of the team’s upcoming debut: “We’re incredibly grateful for the support from the FIA and Formula One Management leadership… The excitement only grows as we get closer to showcasing GM’s engineering expertise on the prestigious global stage of F1.”
With hype building and questions still unanswered—especially about the driver lineup—Cadillac’s Miami launch succeeded in keeping the spotlight firmly on their long-awaited entry into Formula 1.
