Cadillac bring Fourth of July F1 livery to Silverstone

Cadillac will run a special stars and stripes livery at Silverstone as F1 races during the Fourth of July weekend

-

Cadillac have unveiled a special stars and stripes livery for the 2026 British GP, as the American team mark 250 years of United States independence at Silverstone.

The new Formula 1 team, which made its debut at the Australian GP earlier this season, will move away from its usual monochrome look for the British GP weekend. Instead, the MAC-26 will carry a full red, white and blue design inspired by the American flag.

The timing is significant. Saturday’s Sprint race and Grand Prix qualifying at Silverstone take place on July 4, when Americans will mark 250 years since the Declaration of Independence was adopted by Congress.

While McLaren and Williams have also brought special liveries to celebrate their home race, Cadillac are using the weekend to lean into their American identity on one of F1’s most historic British stages.

Cadillac reveal stars and stripes design

The one-off livery features the stars and stripes across key areas of the car, including the front wing and engine cover. The revised colour scheme will also be reflected across Cadillac’s garage dressing at Silverstone, as well as on driver helmets and team kit.

The design gives Cadillac one of the most eye-catching looks of the British GP weekend, as the team continue to build their identity during their first season in Formula 1.

Dan Towriss, CEO of Cadillac Formula 1 Team Holdings, said the livery was designed to showcase the team’s pride in representing the United States on the world stage.

“The 4th of July weekend is a moment for us to show our continued pride in representing the United States on the global stage of F1,” Towriss said. “We want to use it as an opportunity to allow new communities to discover the sport and share our passion.”

That message fits with Cadillac’s wider position in the championship. The team are still searching for regular competitiveness in their rookie season, but their arrival has already given F1 a stronger American presence at a time when the sport continues to grow in the United States.

Perez hopes to give US fans something to celebrate

On track, the British GP is likely to be another challenging weekend for Cadillac, but the team showed signs of improved pace at the Austrian GP before both cars retired early with brake issues.

Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas both out-qualified the struggling Aston Martin cars at the Red Bull Ring, suggesting the updated package has given the team a more competitive baseline.

Perez came close to scoring Cadillac’s first Formula 1 points at the Monaco GP earlier this season, and the Mexican driver hopes Silverstone can offer another chance for progress.

“Silverstone will be a tricky event and it looks like high temperatures again, but we have a lot of experience and resilience in this team to find the way forward,” Perez said.

“I’m looking forward to the weekend and hope to be able to give our American fans another reason to celebrate the 4th of July.”

That would be a major moment for Cadillac, who remain at the start of their F1 journey but have already shown flashes of promise as they work to close the gap to the established teams.

Silverstone becomes livery showcase

The British GP has become a major stage for special designs in 2026. McLaren have revealed a heritage-inspired Google Gemini livery linked to their first F1 car, while Williams have also marked their home weekend with a one-off look.

For Cadillac, the meaning is different. Silverstone is not a home race, but the Fourth of July timing gives the American team a chance to make a visual statement during one of the biggest weekends of the season.

The livery also arrives at a useful moment for the team. Cadillac may still be waiting for their first points, but their performance trajectory has shown signs of life, and a standout design ensures they will be part of the wider British GP conversation.

Now the task is to turn attention into results. A red, white and blue MAC-26 will make Cadillac hard to miss at Silverstone, but a first points finish would give the team’s American independence celebration real substance.
