Betting odds and favourites for the F1 2025 Monaco GP

Find out the favourite for the F1 2025 Monaco GP – the sport’s most famous race.

Formula 1 returns to Monte Carlo for the 2025 Monaco GP and gamblers are paying close attention to one of the most technically unique races on the calendar – So who are the odds on favourites in the betting pool?

The race, scheduled for May 23–25, poses a distinctive challenge due to the circuit’s tight layout, limited overtaking opportunities, and an increased likelihood of accidents and safety cars, all of which can heavily influence outcomes.

Max Verstappen enters the weekend in strong form following a dominant performance at the Emilia Romagna GP, however, Monte Carlo is a circuit that does not necessarily reward recent form.

Qualifying is often more important than race pace, and Red Bull‘s RB21 car has shown fluctuations in performance depending on circuit type in the face of a very impressive McLaren package.

Australia’s Oscar Piastri has started from pole on three occasions this season for McLaren, an equal number to Verstappen, and he has gone on to win four times to assume command of the drivers’ championship a third of the way through.

His performance over a single lap, combined with his team’s tactical sharpness, positions him as a key driver to watch for those considering outright bets or qualifying-specific markets.

And a critical change for 2025 is the FIA’s introduction of a mandatory two-stop strategy for this race. This rule alteration breaks from tradition at Monaco, where races typically feature a single pit stop due to the high cost of track position.

For punters, this introduces additional variables: tyre management, pit stop execution, and the timing of any potential safety car can now significantly impact finishing order and top-six or podium bets.

For those exploring betting markets, it is essential to monitor weather forecasts, practice session performance, and team strategy indications throughout the weekend. Any unexpected developments, such as red flags or qualifying disruptions, can have an outsized impact at this venue.

The F1 2025 Monaco GP will run over 78 laps at the 3.337km/2.074mi Circuit de Monaco on Sunday, May 25 so who is the odds on favourite in the Principality besides the Mediterranean Sea?

Who is the betting odds on favourite for the F1 2025 Monaco GP?

With his recent form in mind, it’s no shock that Oscar Piastri is the favourite for the F1 2025 Monaco GP, with bookmakers tipping him to deliver his fifth win of the season.

Should he do so, he will claim his first ever win at the Circuit de Monaco and will also become the first Australian to win there since Daniel Ricciardo, then with Red Bull, did in 2018.

Can the 24-year-old extend his championship lead on Sunday, May 23?

Who are outside betting odds to win the F1 2025 Monaco GP?

Away from Piastri, it’s the usual suspects who are backed to fight for the victory at the F1 2025 Monaco GP with the immediate underdog being his teammate, Lando Norris; who could snatch pole away on Saturday or benefit from strategy on the Sunday.

The Brit has just one pole to his name this year, which came at the 2025 Australian GP, and he has otherwise struggled for consistency in the McLaren. Can he rebound in Monte Carlo?

Max Verstappen, of course, can never be counted out either. The Dutchman has been on pole in Monaco in 2021 and 2023 and converted both of them to wins on those occasions, can he do so once again for Red Bull?

The defending four-time world champion isn’t wholly confident in his car, but they have produced remarkable turnarounds to put him in the hunt at the Saudi Arabian and Emilia Romagna GPs after tough Free Practice sessions. They can’t be counted out, and for good reason.

After those, the odds start to get longer. Charles Leclerc is tipped at 6/1 to repeat his 2024 heroics for Ferrari, then comes George Russell, Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Antonelli at increasingly unlikely prospects to claim victory. Red Bull‘s Yuki Tsunoda is given really tall odds of 500/1.
