F1 Austrian GP Starting Grid 2024 – With Penalties Applied

Max Verstappen was fastest in Qualifying, meaning the Red Bull driver is first on the starting grid for the 2024 Austrian GP

-

Max Verstappen is first on the 2024 Austrian GP starting grid after a dominant qualifying session from the Red Bull driver, where he blew away the competition with Lando Norris 0.404s behind in second place.

George Russell will start from third on the grid for Mercedes, following a strong qualifying session. Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz took fourth place, just ahead of Lewis Hamilton, who will start fifth on the Austrian GP starting grid at the Red Bull Ring.

Charles Leclerc, driving the second Ferrari, had an off-track moment on his final flying lap, resulting in a sixth-place start. Oscar Piastri, who initially set a competitive time which would have placed him third, was relegated to seventh after exceeding track limits and having that time deleted.

Sergio Perez secured eighth place for Red Bull, while Nico Hulkenberg placed ninth for Haas. Esteban Ocon rounded out the top 10 for Alpine. Daniel Ricciardo narrowly missed out on Q3, qualifying in 11th place, while his RB teammate Yuki Tsunoda will start from 14th on the Austrian GP starting grid.

The Haas of Kevin Magnussen and Alpine’s Pierre Gasly will start 12th and 13th respectively. Fernando Alonso had a challenging qualifying session, unable to improve his time and finishing 15th.

Williams drivers had a tough outing, with Alex Albon finishing in 16th and Logan Sargeant set to start from the back row in 19th. Lance Stroll also struggled, exiting in Q1 with a 17th place finish, while Sauber duo of Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu will start 18th and 20th respectively.

2024 Austrian GP Starting Grid – Final

Max Verstappen will start on pole for the 2024 Austrian Grand Prix. Lando Norris of McLaren and Mercedes driver George Russell occupy the second and third on the Austrian GP starting grid.
