Formula 1 heads to Sao Paulo this weekend for the 2022 Brazilian Grand Prix, and Sergio Perez is hoping his helmet design will inspire him to victory on Sunday.
The Mexican will run a special helmet promoting the new ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ movie, the latest instalment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“My helmet for the next race, your thoughts? Hope we can be as fast as Black Panther,” Perez wrote on social media.
This isn’t the first time F1 and the Black Panther franchise have crossed paths.
After Lewis Hamilton won the 2020 Belgian Grand Prix, he dedicated the win to Chadwick Boseman, who passed away a day earlier.
Boseman played the title character in the 2018 film, and the Mercedes star saluted the famous actor by making the Wakanda salute on the podium.
“We are continuing to push the envelope, and it feels great to finish on a high this weekend, particularly with Chad (Chadwick Boseman) dying because he made everyone feel like a superhero,” said Hamilton.
Now Perez will be hoping his Black Panther design inspires him as he looks to end his campaign on a high. Here’s a look at all the new helmet designs for the 2022 Brazilian Grand Prix.
